Boracay. Hearing its name alone conjures images of powdery white sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and vibrant sunsets that paint the sky in hues of orange and pink. After several trips – four to be exact -, I’ve fallen deeply in love with Boracay’s unique charm, and I’m excited to share my favorite activities and recommendations for making the most of your own island getaway.
A bit of a flashback:
It was in March 2018 that I first visited Boracay, along with my 2 sisters. Back then, there were limited activities compared to what you can see today. I can say that the island was true gem, untouched by the commercial hustle and bustle that characterizes it today. (But it was not also like when our aunt visited it that she complained of long walks and costly meals. Hehe)
My second to fourth visit was post-pandemic (April 2023, April 2024, and January 2025). Boracay has undergone significant changes. Most of the island’s natural beauty is now interspersed with more hotels, restaurants, and shops. The influx of visitors and the ongoing development continue to impact the island’s natural landscape.
With my recent trip, though, you can still experience a quiet luxury in this bustling island. The catch? Well, book your stay in a hotel with its own beach. For us, we booked at Crimson.
Sun-Kissed Bliss on White Beach: The Thing I Love Most in Bora
The heart of Boracay is its iconic White Beach. It is the perfect place to unwind and soak up the sun.
Simply relax on the beach, listen to the gentle lapping of the waves, and watch the world go by. It’s the ultimate stress reliever.
Suggestion
Try to catch the sunrise or sunset on White Beach. The colors are truly magical. Sunrise on the Boracay Newcoast area (Keyhole) or Tampisaan Beach. Sunset on the long beach. Reserve a table on the Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel and witness as the sun sets.
Also, don’t be afraid to take a leisurely stroll along the entire length of the beach. Each station (1, 2, and 3) has its own distinct vibe.
Beyond the Beach: Adventures Await
While White Beach is undeniably captivating, Boracay offers a plethora of activities for the adventurous soul.
Important Note: Book your tours or activities with a reputable operator.
Here are my favorites:
Parasailing
Soar high above the turquoise waters and experience a bird’s-eye, panoramic view of Boracay’s beauty. The thrill is unmatched!

Tip: Check the weather conditions before booking.
During our first time, we were lucky enough to also try jet skiing.
Paraw Sailing
Enjoy a beautiful sunset while sailing on a traditional Filipino sailboat, which can accommodate up to 8 persons. This is an activity I never thought I would very much enjoy and love. Our booking time was perfect – sunset was right on time (not too early or late). Luck was truly on our side.

Island Hopping
This is a must-do! Tours typically include visits to:
Crystal Cove Island: Known for its two coves and caves, offering stunning photo opportunities.
Note: Entrance fee is not included in the tour as this is an optional activity.
Crocodile Island: Snorkeling here reveals vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life.
Puka Shell Beach: Famous for its beautiful puka shells and quieter atmosphere.
Many tours will include a lunch stop, and snorkeling gear.
Tips:
- Bring sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water.
- Be mindful of marine life and avoid touching coral.
Helmet Diving
A fantastic option for those who want to explore the underwater world without scuba diving. Walk along the seabed and observe colorful fish and coral up close.
Tips:
- Ensure the operator provides clear instructions and safety guidelines.
- Be aware of any potential ear pressure issues.
Other Activities Bora Offers
- Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) or Kayaking
- Crystal Kayak
- Scuba Diving and Snorkeling
- Land Activities: ATV Rides, Ziplining, River Tubing, Cold Springs
- Water Sports: Jet Skiing, Banana Boat Rides
- Sunset Cruise
We tried the Diamond Yatch for our sunset cruise, and this activity is something I won’t recommend. For someone who is not a party-goer, it’s a waste of money. Seats are on a first-come, first-serve basis. The food is not worth it as well.

Tips for a Memorable Trip:
Respect the environment. Boracay has made great strides in environmental conservation. Be mindful of your impact and avoid littering.
Stay hydrated. The tropical climate can be intense. Drink plenty of water and apply sunscreen regularly.
Embrace the Island Vibe. Boracay is a place to relax, unwind, and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Let go of your worries and embrace the island vibe.
Boracay is more than just a beautiful beach; it’s an experience. Whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, or a vibrant nightlife, this island paradise has something for everyone. With a little planning and an open mind, you’re sure to create memories that will last a lifetime.
What Will I Do Next?
Kitesurfing at Bulabog Beach
Next on my list is the exhilarating adventure of kitesurfing at Bulabog Beach. Known for its perfect winds and stunning scenery, this hotspot in Boracay promises an unforgettable experience. I look forward to harnessing the power of the wind and gliding across the turquoise waters. I can’t wait to feel a sense of freedom and thrill while trying this activity that combines the best of both worlds: the beauty of the beach and the excitement of water sports.

Stay tuned for my guide to exploring Boracay—covering how to get there, how to get around, and the best spots to eat!
